With Halloween right around the corner, there are plenty of spooktacular events to enjoy in nearby Alexandria:
Ghosts and Grief Evening Tour (October 20 & 27) – Celebrate Halloween by learning about the funeral and mourning practices that took place during the Victorian era. Both traditional mourning clothes and hair jewelry will be on display, and guides will tell of the deaths and mysterious occurrences that have happened at the Lee-Fendall House which dates back to 1775.
Zombie Escape (October 28) – When the Zombie Apocalypse began, Alexandria was one of the cities to fall. You and your friends escaped by barricading yourselves in a hotel. But supplies are quickly running out and to stay alive, you must head out for more. Can you make your way back to the hotel before getting caught by a zombie?
Ghostly Tales (October 28) – Sit around a campfire at the Carlyle House to hear storytellers tell hair-raising tales of Alexandria’s past. Visitors can make smores during the stories and pose for pictures inside the photo booth afterward.
Ghost and Graveyard Tour (through October 31) – Join the 18th-century costumed guide who will lead you by lantern through the streets of Alexandria’s Old Town district. Along the way, you’ll hear ghost stories and local legends as well as about fascinating unsolved mysteries. Tours begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. and cost thirteen dollars for adults.
