The Apartments of St. Charles are an easy drive from Alexandria, Virginia and the fun events the city has to offer.
One of them is Restaurant Week which takes place August 18-27.
More than sixty casual and fine dining restaurants participate, and they feature a $35 three-course dinner.
Blackwall Hitch is known for offering a dining experience that blends the area’s finest in tastes and talents. The sophisticated, yet comfortable atmosphere is the perfect setting for date night or meeting friends, and the staff strives to exceed guests’ expectations by providing outstanding service. The chefs prepare regionally inspired dishes using fresh ingredients, and Restaurant Week offerings include grilled watermelon salad, jumbo lump crab mac & cheese, and a flourless chocolate torte.
At Chart House, diners experience the city’s best views of the river whether they enjoy their meals inside or out. The restaurant began in a converted diner more than fifty years ago in Aspen, Colorado, and today there are twenty-six locations across the country that have earned a reputation for excellence. The chefs are known for their extraordinary dishes, and their creations for Restaurant Week include New England clam chowder, Caribbean cedar plank salmon, and salted caramel cheesecake.
If the walls at Il Porto could talk, they would have plenty of stories to tell. The building was originally owned by a sea captain who sold silk, jewels, and silver until his arrest for the sale of a valued family heirloom of one of his customers. Since then, the building has been home to a butcher, speakeasy, and more before being restored in 1973 to serve northern Italian cuisine. In the kitchen, the chefs make all dishes from scratch, and the options during Restaurant Week include calamari fritti, pesce fresco, and tiramisu.
